OPENDESKS REACHES 1000TH LOCATION

OpenDesks, Inc. (www.opendesks.com), the source for discovering, managing and booking workspaces and meeting rooms in real-time, added the 1000th location to its network and released its first Android app today.   The new app and expansion of its network strengthens the value of OpenDesks to both individual and corporate users.

The Android app joins the OpenDesks iPhone app, released in October 2011, and tools such as the OpenDesks Workspace Map, an interactive map that allows users to sort and pinpoint workspace based on geographic location.

“OpenDesks automates the discovery, communication and booking of resources in real-time,” said founder and CEO Chris DiFonzo.   “Our goal is to make discovering and booking business-class workspace and meeting rooms a seamless process for mobile professionals.”

The rapidly changing global workforce -- and work culture -- bode well for OpenDesks’ future. According to the IDC, the mobile workforce is expected to grow by 20 percent by 2013.  In the United States alone that means nearly 120 million workers, encompassing a range of professions from software developers to lawyers.

Despite the growth in numbers, mobile workers have been widely underserved as a market.  While there is plenty of workspace available for booking -- from coworking sites to full service business centers -- there has not been a solution to allow mobile professionals to book space in real-time.
